SHOPPING IN HISTORICAL BAZAARS
This is a day where you can explore and shop leisurely in the historical bazaars of İstanbul.
You will visit the following places:
Grand Bazaar, the first shopping mall of the world built in the 15th century, is still the biggest covered bazaar in the world, where istanbulites flock on weekends to shop.
Grand Bazaar has 66 streets and almost 2000 stores inside and about 2000 outside.
Lose yourself in the wide selection of sapphires, gold, silver to copper, Christian icons to handwritten old Kur’an books & pages to old dowry pieces, ‘ikat’ & ‘suzani’ material, leather jackets and linen bathrobes to ‘genuinely’ fake purses.
It is essential to have your local guide with you in the Grand Bazaar so that you can shop from the shops where the ‘Istanbulite’s shop from and buy high quality products at fair prices!
Spice Market: Historical market place with only 150 stores has dazzling colors and smells. This is where spices have been traded since the 17th century.
Today, you can taste the famous Turkish delight here and lose yourself in herbal teas, spices and dried fruits of all sorts.
