FESTIVE SEASON IN ISTANBUL

FESTIVE SEASON IN ISTANBUL

Celebrate Festive Season in Istanbul this year!

Obviously, Istanbul is not the first city to come to mind when we say ‘Christmas’, however it actually is one of the best destinations for Festive Season holidays whether it’s Christmas or New Year.

In Istanbul it’s all about glitters, lights on the trees and streets, decorations, shopping and having fun!

Istanbul is one of the best cities for shopping and a real istanbulite knows where to find perfect gifts.

Here’s the perfect, cozy 2 days itinerary to celebrate festive season as an ‘istanbulite’:

DAY 1:

Grand Bazaar: Feel the festive spirit in the world’s oldest bazaar where there are 66 streets and about 2000 stores and shop like the locals with your guide!

Spice Market: Taste the Turkish delights, dried fruits, herbal tea and delicious nuts!

Nişantaşı Neighborhood: As the son goes down and street lights go up, Nisantasi becomes even more festive! You can listen to your guide give you the history of the neighborhood as you take photos, shop and sip your hot chocolate in one of the small & chic cafes in the neighborhood.

Turkish Bath in one of the historical Turkish Baths of Istanbul: Best way to relax after a long day of shopping!

DAY 2:

İstiklal Avenue & Galata Neighborhood: Istiklal Avenue is the main pedestrian street in the city and becomes festive at this time of year. Galata neighborhood is a historical and fun neighborhood as well, it is located at the end of Istiklal Avenue.

St Antoine Church: The biggest Catholic Church in Istanbul is always decorated during this time and has Christmas ceremony.

Ortaköy & Bebek Neighborhoods: Ortakoy neighborhood is a cute, picturesque little neighborhood by the Bosphorus. Bebek is an upscale neighborhood by the Bosphorus. Both of them would be fun during this time.

You may end your tour at the Four Seasons Bosphorus or Çırağan Palace Kempinski with a festive tea time. Feeling the spirit in those historical buildings by the Bosphorus will take away the day’s tiredness and warm you inside.

Please contact us if you’re traveling with your kids. We may combine your itinerary with fun activities for kids like ice skating and Christmas towns!

We wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year already!
