Zeynep was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago to Turkish parents and moved to Istanbul after earning a degree in History from Western Illinois University. She spent eight years as a journalist at The Washington Post’s Istanbul bureau, covering politics, culture, and everything in between, before becoming a licensed tour guide. Today, she enjoys sharing her love of Istanbul with visitors and showing them around the city she calls home.
