SALT is a non-profit institution with two locations in İstanbul and one in Ankara. With exhibitions, conferences, movie screenings and public programs, it is a popular destination both for locals and visitors. On any given day at SALT you can catch a new exhibition, an artist talk or a performance.

SALT Beyoğlu is right on İstiklal Street, a very central location that makes impromptu visits easy. Make sure to stop by the bookstore Robinson Crusoe where you can browse Turkish and foreign language art books, and check out the garden on the top floor where workshops are organized regularly.

SALT Galata is a very unique place, set inside the old Ottoman Bank on Bankalar Caddesi. Here, the research center and library SALT Research offers public access to thousands of print and digital resources and spaces dedicated to research. It is a popular place amongst students, artists and curious minds. SALT Galata also hosts The Ottoman Bank Museum and The Ottoman Bank Archives and Research Center.

Every last Thursday of the month both locations are open until 22:00. On these “Long Thursdays” you can catch a tour of the exhibitions and take advantage of the discounts offered at the café and the bookstore.
