Pera Museum
Pera Museum was founded in 2005 by Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation. Housed in a 19th century building, the former Bristol Hotel and was renovated as this superb museum.
- First two floors house permanent collections including Anatolian Weights and Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics.
- The museum also has a very rich Orientalist art collection including Osman Hamdi Bey’s famous ‘Turtoise Trainer’.
- Another permanent exhibition is ‘Portraits from the Empire’ which consists of portraits of sultans, princes and other members of the Ottoman imperial family.
- Rest of the floors are multipurpose and are used for interesting exhibitions.
One of the latest ones this winter was the exhibition where old photographs of Istanbul was exhibited.
