Located near Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe is another pre-pottery Neolithic site that has recently begun revealing fascinating finds.

Featuring similar carved stones and anthropomorphic motifs, it provides further evidence of complex societies in the region over 11,000 years ago.

Excavations are ongoing, and the site is often referred to as Göbeklitepe’s “sister site.”

Together, they underscore southeastern Turkey’s status as a cradle of civilization.
