House of Mary
Nestled on the slopes of Mount Koressos near Ephesus, the House of Mary is a sacred site believed to be the final residence of the Virgin Mary.
According to Christian tradition, Mary was brought to this peaceful location by the Apostle John after the crucifixion of Jesus. Today, the modest stone house — restored in the 20th century — draws pilgrims from around the world, regardless of faith.
Surrounded by pine trees and a serene atmosphere, the site invites quiet reflection. A small chapel inside the house, a wall of prayers, and the holy water fountains contribute to its spiritual significance. Recognized by both the Catholic Church and local Orthodox traditions, the House of Mary remains one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Turkey.
