Hierapolis Ancient City
Close to the Pamukkale terraces lies the ancient city of Hierapolis, founded in the 2nd century BCE as a Greco-Roman spa town.
The city includes a large necropolis, a well-preserved theater, and sacred hot springs believed to possess healing properties.
It became a prominent Christian center and is believed to be the martyrdom site of Apostle Philip.
Today, Hierapolis and Pamukkale together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site blending natural beauty and archaeological richness.
