Galataport
Galataport of İstanbul, the new cruise ship terminal, provided 1.2kilometer long coastline to istanbulites.
The port has the world’s first underground cruise ship terminal. On a day when there is no cruise ship on the shore, you cannot see any signs of a terminal, it is a long promenade with an impressive view of the historical peninsula and the Bosphorus.
Apart from the open air shopping mall, Galataport coastline is home to great restaurants and cafes.
The first modern art museum of the city and still one of the most important ones, Istanbul Modern is located in Galataport as well. The building is designed by Renzo Piano.
There is also a small museum to honor the photographs of the greatest photojournalist of Turkey – Ara Güler- and a beautiful 19th century clock tower.
