Rahmi Koç Museum is the first major museum in Turkey focusing on the history of transportation, industry and communication.

It was opened in 1994 on the former grounds of the Ottoman Navy anchor foundry and extended into the historic dockyard in 2001.

• With the addition of the former state liquor factory in 2004, today the museum sits on a 11.000 square meters of land.

From full size ships and aircraft to hands-on gallery, there are thousands of objects on display. An American submarine used in WWII, early 20th century Turkish passenger ship, a part of an old railway and a coach, vintage cars, sultanate horse carriages, recreation of an olive oil factory, recreated traditional shops, gramaphone needles and much more is available.
