Postcard From Istanbul!
Where was this taken?
At Aya Yorgi Hill in Buyukada. You have to walk up the hill for at least 20 minutes to reach this peaceful spot. However, it is worth all the tiredness on the way. The church here has some rich iconography and the little family run cafeteria has the fascinating view you are looking at. You feel like you are by the Mediterrenean waters, however you are only an hour and a half away from city center.
Buyukada near Istanbul is the biggest of the five Prince’s Islands on the Sea of Marmara. This is where you can only walk, bike or take the horse carriage and as you stroll through you see beautiful examples of 19th century mansions in between tall trees.
