New James Bond Movie to be filmed in Istanbul
‘Skyfall’ will be filmed in Eminönü, the busiest neighborhood in the city!
Starting on April 16th, most crowded neighborhood of Istanbul, will be closed to traffic and pedestrians for three weeks. It is difficult to estimate how badly the traffic will be effected, however the shopkeepers will be paid by the production company since they will lose business for the time being.
Motorcycle chasings and flying cars are expected to take place while the audience will witness some of the most important historical monuments of the city. Scenes will be shot around the Spice Market, New Mosque, Old Post Office, Balat and Grand Bazaar.
This is not the first time a James Bond movie is filmed in Istanbul. Back in 1963, part of ‘From Russia with Love’ was filmed in the Underground Cistern, Hagia Sophia and on the Bosphorous.
