Istanbul İs Getting Ready For Art International
The Turkish art scene has been on the rise for several years with galleries participating to international art fairs, artist driven initiatives popping up in the city and Turkish artists getting international recognition.
With this hype and interest in the Turkish contemporary art scene, Art International, an art fair only on its second year, is getting ready for its visitors.
The second year of the fair brings together 78 international and local art galleries to Halic Congress Center. In addition to exhibitions, the program includes screenings, talks, forums, performances and a section dedication to art initiatives called Alternatives. The impressive sculpture terrace By the Waterside along the historic Golden Horn’s waterfront will exhibit works by artist like Joan Miró, Benjamin Appel, Laurent Bolognini and Osman Dinc.
If you’re visiting Istanbul in late September, make sure you visit Art International. In addition to the fair, the local art scene will also be very vibrant. If you want to get a closer look, don’t miss out on the opportunity to take a tour of the leading contemporary Turkish galleries with local artist Seza Bali.
