Monday, April 9th was the 424th year of his death anniversary
Architect’s guild organized a ceremony by his mausoleum this morning as they do every year.

Here are a few interesting facts about architect Sinan:

• Sinan was alive during the sultanate of six different sultans
• He was the head architect for three different sultans
• Sinan is the only head architect to be buried at the mosque complex of a sultan
• At the opening ceremony of Süleymaniye Mosque, Sultan Suleyman the Magnificient honored the big architect by presenting him the keys to the mosque (first and last in the history of the empire)
